An EEA Grants project, chosen as best practice by the EU

Network against Hatred Project, funded by the EEA Grants within the Spanish Active Citizenship Programme, has been chosen by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) as one of the best practices from across the EU on how to combat hate crime.

Innovation to tackle unemployment or social exclusion

A small association, Jovesolides, had a dream: to apply innovation and creativity to solve social problems. The project, funded by the EEA Grants within Active Citizenship Programme, has grown and more than 500 entities have joined CreActiva Network. Even some of their groundbreaking proposals have been included in political parties’ programmes.

A tool to improve youth employability

A project funded by the EEA Grants has developed an online tool to certify the skills developed by volunteers in their social work with the objective to improve their CV and hence, their opportunities in the labour market.

Strengthening NGOs to change the world

13 million people lives at risk of social exclusion in Spain. NGOs play a key role to fight this problem, but economic crisis has also taken its toll in these organizations. EEA Grants has contributed with 4.6 million euros to strengthen their role in Spain through a programme with excellent results.

Empowering people with cerebral palsy

The most positive outcome of a project is the participants satisfaction. In the case of the ASPACE Active Citizenship Network, 80% of people with cerebral palsy considers that their participation in the network have helped them to acquire more practical tools to improve their daily life.
