18.05.2015

The EEA Grants Monitoring Committee met last 13th May, as stated in the regulation, in order to assess the appropriate implementation of the EEA Grants in Spain and the achievement of the established objectives.

Following the meeting on 30th September 2014, the Monitoring Committee members –representatives from the Spanish Ministries, workers and employers’ organization and municipalities- met to analyse the 2014 Strategic Report carried out by the Spanish National Focal Point. Representatives from the Norwegian Embassy attended as observers.

The attendants received from the National Focal Point a presentation on the implementation and results related to the EEA Grants in 2014, and they expressed appreciation for the management as well as the results achieved by the NFP and the Programme Operators through 2014, fulfilling and even exceeding the objectives. At the same time, Committee members regretted the fact that Spain is not going to be beneficiary of the EEA Grants in the next period.

EEA Grants regulation states that every year a Monitoring Committee must be brought together in order to ensure the appropriate implementation of the EEA Grants in Spain and the achievement of the established objectives.
