Linking great ideas with the capital required to implement them. This was the objective of the Investment Forum in Green Technologies, organized by Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) with the collaboration of Innovation Norway, on 14 June. 13 Spanish and Norwegian technology based start-ups presented their projects within the thematic areas of environment, energy efficiency, renewable energies and climate change.

During the forum opening, Javier Ponce, Director of Economic and Financial Department of CDTI, highlighted the “excellent collaboration between Norway and Spain” within the framework of the Programme Environmental and climate change-related research and technology cofounded by the EEA Grants. Rodrigo Ballesteros, Senior Adviser in Innovation Norway expressed his confidence that this was the first of several more investment forums.

Among the start-ups that presented their projects were Sadako Technologies, which are using artificial intelligence to solve problems such as the waste treatment. They have created Wall-B, a robot that sorts waste more efficiently and improving valuable materials recovery rate.

Or Smalle Technologies that produces electrical energy for powering buoys at any location. Or the Norwegian Sensovann, which offers disruptive technology in water quality control. Or Textil Energy, that designs and produces portable solar products in order to obtain energy outdoors to charge our smartphones, for example.

Environmental and climate change-related research and technology Programme, operated by CDTI, has been funded with 18 million euros from the EEA Grants, that have contributed to finance 162 R&D projects, 43 out of them with a donor partner.
