Other 11 Spanish cities will host a project whose objective is to promote female entrepreneurship in the priority sectors where women are underrepresented through business training and guidance.

In the two previous editions, 20 awareness workshops and 20 business training workshops in so many cities in Spain were organized with the participation of more than 500 women and excellent results. In this occasion, the project will be developed in Almendralejo (Badajoz), Castellón, Ibiza, Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), Las Palmas, Madrid, Pamplona, Tomelloso (Ciudad Real), Vigo, Vitoria and Zaragoza.

Participants are women with big ideas but without business skills. For that reason, all of them point out the extremely positive experience not only for the business training but especially for the individualized tutoring.

Such as Lola Ibáñez, an entrepreneur participant in the project in Valencia who with a patented idea of a small device for clothes identification was finalist at an Entrepreneurship Contest organized by Emprende Madrid and the Spanish magazine Yo Dona, and with this encouragement she decided to go for it. “More initiatives of this kind are necessary because there are plenty of women with great ideas who need an extra push”, explains.

“In my opinion, in order to foster female entrepreneurship, more information and training about what implies setting up a business is crucial, and also improving funding channels", Lola Ibáñez stresses.

Or such as Ana Isabel Calvo, participant in the Madrid edition, who after 22 years in the publishing sector set up a digital consultancy company thanks to the EEA Grans boost. Or Paloma Álvarez, also in Madrid, who after taking part in the Women Entrepreneurship Project has created Fashion Stories, a fashion design company specialized in personal luxury, and dreams of showing her work in New York and Paris in two years.  And so on until 500 stories, who will be joined by 200 more in this third edition.

Women Entrepreneurship in Emerging Sectors Project, operated by Incyde Foundation, is one of the predefined within Gender Equality Programme, promoted by the Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality through the Women’s Institute and co-financed by the EEA Grants.
