EEA Grants 2009-2014

What are the EEA Grants?

The EEA Grants are the contribution of three donor countries: Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, to reduce the economic and social disparities in the European countries and to strengthen bilateral relations with beneficiary countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain).

In the period 2009-2014, EEA Grants amount to 1.788 million of euros, of which Spain will receive 45,85 million. This funding is allocated to increase environmental research, development and technology related to climate change, ONG funding, promoting gender equality, conservation of natural and cultural heritage, cultural diversity and cultural exchange and scholarships in order to promote educational mobility.
